The Jacksonville Jaguars have had some really good players over the years. They mostly didn’t take advantage of most of them but that is a story for another day

There is a former Jaguars player out there right now that is still very good and looking for an NFL home. That player is Yannick Ngakoue.

Ngakoue was a third-round pick (69th) overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2016 NFL Draft. He went to college at Maryland where he was a good enough player to be a top-70 selection in the NFL.

He ended up playing tons of games with the Jaguars from 2016-2019. In those four years, he only missed one game. He also made it to the Pro Bowl in one of those four years.

Yannick Ngakoue was a good player when he was with the Jaguars.

In 2020, however, he split the season between the Minnesota Vikings and Baltimore Ravens. That was followed by one season with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2021 and the Indianapolis Colts in 2022.

Now, after all of that, he has made it to the start of training camp without a team. There have been tons of reports of interest in him around the league but nothing has happened yet. He’d obviously like to get to a camp sooner rather than later.

It would be fun to see this former Jaguars player (who is a good player) find a contract and a home. He deserves it.

In fact, the Jaguars do make a ton of sense for a player like him. He would come in and provide an immediate spark to their defensive front. The Jaguars have a lot of talent there but they could use a veteran to be the glue to the unit.

If enough time passes and he still isn’t signed, there is no reason for the team to not try. Honestly, there is no reason for them not to be actively trying right now.

The Jaguars are a good team looking to elevate into Super Bowl contenders. He is a good player looking to help a team do just that. The conclusion of his offseason, Jaguars or not, is interesting.
