This division rival might actually be the problem for the Jaguars in 2023

If the Jacksonville Jaguars are going to get back to the playoffs for the second time in as many years, they would love for it to be as AFC South Division champions.

That isn't to say they couldn't be in the Wild Card mix because they absolutely could. However, why not take advantage of your weak division if possible?

The Tennessee Titans reign over the division came to an end in 2022 when the Jaguars came all the way back and won it. This was a big moment in both franchises' history as the Jaguars are on the way up and the Titans are on the way down.

That isn't to say that the Titans won't be a great team again this year either. They didn't make the Wild Card last year but they certainly could this year if they stay healthy.

The Jacksonville Jaguars need to be on their toes during the season.

With all of this in mind, they might not be the division rival worth worrying about right now. That very well could be the Indianapolis Colts.

The Houston Texans had a great draft but they feel like they are a few years away with some of their young talent.

However, the Colts were supposed to be pretty good in 2022 and they just weren't. In fact, they were one of the biggest disappointments in the NFL.

They have Gardner Minshew as their starter right now but they just drafted Anthony Richardson with the fourth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Florida.

He has all of the tools needed to not only be an electric quarterback, but one that produces lots of wins. If that is the case, the Colts are the team to worry about.

He throws a big ball and can make huge plays in an exciting way. Now, it is up to the Colts to start him and take advantage of him in his first year with the team.

We might see Minshew to begin the season but it shouldn't be long before Richardson gets his chance to start. As for the Jaguars, they need to be ready for anything that comes their way, including a resurgence from the Colts.
