The Jacksonville Jaguars are expecting to be a very good team coming into the 2023 season. They made it beyond the first round last year and only lost to the eventual Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.

Now, they believe that they can win a second consecutive division title and make an even deeper run in the postseason.

Obviously, there are a lot of good teams in the NFL, specifically in the AFC where the Jaguars are. The regular season is going to be extremely hard and the playoffs will get even harder because of the tough matchups that are guaranteed to be there.

The list of opponents that are going to be on Jacksonville's schedule (that will be released on Thursday night) has pros and cons on it.

The Jacksonville Jaguars will have some pros and cons on their schedule.

The biggest con is really the only con and that is the fact that it has some really hard teams on it. It is nice to come in first place but they get that first-place schedule with it.

That means that they will be facing the other elite AFC division winners from a year ago. The Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, and Cincinnati Bengals make that cut.

Another con is that they play the entire AFC North. In addition to those amazing Cincinnati Bengals, they also get the Baltimore Ravens, Cleveland Browns, and Pittsburgh Steelers. All of them could be good this year.

The last con is that the extra NFC team is the San Francisco 49ers who have a top-three roster in the league. It is never easy to beat a team that loaded.

Some pros, as mentioned before, come with this as well. The AFC South is bad and the Jaguars will see that division make up six of their games.

They should be able to take most of the games from the Tennessee Titans, Indianapolis Colts, and Houston Texans. There is a chance that all three of them start a rookie quarterback from this most recent draft most of the year.

The other pro is that the NFC division that they are playing as a whole is the NFC South. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers won it last year with a losing record which speaks volumes. Tom Brady isn't there anymore to make things even slightly hard either.

The Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, and New Orleans Saints are all retooling as well so the Jaguars should be able to have a chance to win all those games.

This won't be an easy schedule for the Jaguars but there are also some teams they should beat on it as well. If you want to be an elite team in this league you need to defeat elite teams in this league. Jacksonville has what they need to take advantage of the pros and overcome the cons.
