The Jacksonville Jaguars are looking to take a big step once again in 2023. They were good last year. The evolution of Trevor Lawrence and the offense was the biggest reason for that success in 2022.
Now, coming into this season, there are big expectations on the offense. However, none of that will matter if the defense doesn't take big steps as well.
One key to that happening is Josh Allen. Of course, after being the seventh overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, Allen is set to begin his 5th NFL season.
At this point, he is a veteran looking to help his team get to the next level. He is finally going to play on a team that has a chance to win which has to be nice for him.
The Jacksonville Jaguars needed to see Josh Allen back in the mix.
He has not shown up to any of Jacksonville's summer activities yet which was a bit concerning but he returned on Monday. Of course, this is great news for everyone.
The coaching staff, his teammates, and Josh Allen himself needs him to be on the field producing at a high level. Everyone can benefit from him playing, staying healthy, and contributing the way we know he can.
There should be no bad blood that comes from him missing the first few weeks of OTAs. He is back now and June isn't even halfway over yet so it isn't like he missed much. There is still a long way to go before training camp officially begins.
Clearly, Allen's return was big in the world of the Jaguars as it was all over social media. He also gathered a big crowd around him at certain points on Monday so he is clearly a popular figure.
This is big news for everyone, as mentioned before. The Jaguars have a chance to be a special team this year and they need all hands on deck.
With Josh Allen out there a threat on defense, it shifts everyone else there into their proper spots. For now, it is good to see him out there getting acclimated. It won't be long before he is making a huge impact in regular season games.
