The Jacksonville Jaguars are trying to become one of the best teams in the NFL. After a stunning ride to a division title and playoff victory in 2022, they have lofty expectations for 2023.

Of course, there are going to be some other teams out there that try to stand in their way. Most of the AFC is very good and they are still mostly improving.

A lot of people see the "big three" in the AFC as the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, and Cincinnati Bengals. Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, and Joe Burrow have a lot to do with that.

There are also some other great teams like the Jaguars along with the Miami Dolphins, New York Jets, New England Patriots, Baltimore Ravens, and Los Angeles Chargers amongst others.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have some things to overcome this season.

Not a single team in the AFC is considered really bad right now. One might stand out as the worst of them but they are all certainly going to present a tough matchup every week.

The NFC is a weaker conference and it isn't really close. If anybody outside of the San Francisco 49ers or Philadelphia Eagles comes out of the NFC, it would be pretty surprising.

On Monday, two of the good teams in the AFC improved by adding a star running back. For one, the now Aaron Rodgers-led New York Jets added Dalvin Cook to their group. He is an incredibly dynamic back that can make plays and help his offense score tons of points.

The other team is the New England Patriots. Ezekiel Elliott has signed with them for this season. Time will tell if he can be an elite starter but he is a solid running back to have at the minimum.

If Mac Jones can have somewhat of a breakout year, he should be able to be just good enough to help the Patriots win. Having an experienced player like Elliott coming to their offense certainly won't hurt.

If the Jaguars want to make some noise this year, keeping up with this AFC is obviously the key. If they do that, they will get into the playoffs. With a guy like Trevor Lawrence, anything can happen once they reach that point.
