The Jacksonville Jaguars surprised everybody on Sunday. Nobody was expecting to hear some amazing (and big) Jaguars news on this day but they have handed out a contract extension.

This is also a very important contract extension as Evan Engram has been signed for three years at 41.25 million dollars.

He is rich, secure in his job, and on a really good team. The Jaguars got a guy locked in that did a tremendous job helping them win football games in 2022.

Everybody is a clear winner here. Having him play on a franchise tag all year long would have been a nightmare that is now avoided.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have some stability at tight end now.

Nothing is worse than watching a player be awesome while wondering if he is committed to the team in the long term. That happened a little bit last year with him but now we know where he always stood. He wanted to be with the Jaguars.

Engram, from a football point of view, is one of the best tight ends in the NFL. He did a tremendous job helping the offense take a big step.

With Trevor Lawrence under center, things are pretty nice for him but he also helps Trevor just as much. Whenever a good tight end can open up the field for you, good things are going to happen.

He is going to be surrounded by tons of good weapons in addition to the quarterback as well. Calvin Ridley is there now which is something that wasn't helping last year.

Christian Kirk and Travis Etienne are going to help Engram form a really good offense as well. With some of the other additions surrounding them, this team is going to score lots of points.

You'd figure that the Jaguars are going to be a really good football team during the duration of Engram's contract. That is outstanding news. Now, it is about taking the next step.
