3 winners (and 1 loser) from this Jaguars win over Saints
Winners
There are two big winners from the Jacksonville Jaguars in this game.
1. Trevor Lawrence
Trevor Lawrence wasn't even sure if he'd be able to go here on Thursday night football. He had a knee injury last weekend and then it was a short turnaround for this Thursday game instead of the full week. He was questionable all week but he obviously ended up playing.
Lawrence led the team to victory once again. He went 20/29 with 204 yards and a touchdown with no picks. He also, despite his knee injury, led the team in rushing which is crazy. He had eight carries for 59 yards which really made him a great duel threat. Now, he has some extra time to feel better before their next game.
2. Travis Etienne
Travis Etienne is establishing himself as one of the best running backs in the NFL right now. He is truly a game changer and he has that Clemson connection with Lawrence. As a running back, he made three catches and gained 24 yards.
In the run game, he had 14 carries for 53 yards. That is not a lot of yardage on the ground for him but he ran the ball into the endzone for two touchdowns which is incredible. He is becoming one of the NFL's top-scoring backs at this point. It was a great game for him overall.
3. Christian Kirk
Christian Kirk wasn't having the most productive game of his career until he made a huge play that won his team the game. He made a catch from Trevor Lawrence through the middle of the field and made a play to run it all the way in.
Kirk ended up leading the Jaguars in receiving with 90 yards on six receptions and the touchdown. That touchdown, as mentioned before, was the game-winner after the Jaguars allowed the Saints to come back. He and Lawrence can both feel very good about that play and this game.
