The Jacksonville Jaguars have a stacked wide receiver corps, with Jakobi Meyers, Brian Thomas Jr., Parker Washington, and Travis Hunter in the fold. However, that didn't stop them from looking to add depth at the position. Instead of going with a familiar face, though, they're making a push for Jake Bobo after the initial free agency spending.

Field Yates of ESPN broke the news that the Jags are giving Bobo a two-year offer sheet, adding that the Seattle Seahawks have five days to match the offer.

The Jaguars are giving the WR corps a boost with Jake Bobo

An undrafted free agent in 2023, Bobo signed with the Hawks. He's since become a fan favorite and a core contributor on special teams. The former UCLA Bruin tested free agency, but Seattle re-signed him. That said, because he only has three accrued seasons, he was a restricted free agent and got a non-guaranteed tender of $3.52 million.

Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated reported that the Jaguars gave Jake Bobo a two-year, $5.5 million offer sheet that includes $4.5 million guaranteed and $1.75 million in a signing bonus. He would have a base salary of $1.26 million and and $2 million in 2026 and 2027, respectively. With incentives, the max value of the deal will be $7 million.

Based on the numbers Breer provided, it's hard to see Seattle matching. Simply put, the Jags made too good an offer. The fact that it's a two-year tender shows that the team's brass expects big things from him.

In Jacksonville, Bobo will probably be wide receiver No. 5 behind Jakobi Meyers, Travis Hunter, Brian Thomas Jr., and Parker Washington. He probably won't get many targets his way, but his special team play will make him an invaluable contributor.

With Bobo in the mix, it's hard to see Jacksonville investing an early-round pick in a receiver. Next, they need to turn their attention to addressing another key need.

The Jaguars next need to sign Cameron Jordan

Having checked off a box, the Jaguars need to turn their attention to addressing other needs before the draft. Even though the free agency frenzy has faded, several talented players remain unsigned. Then again, Jacksonville's biggest need is arguably defensive tackle, and there aren't many appealing options left.

On the other hand, if the Jags want to add a pass rusher to round out their rotation behind Travon Walker and Josh Hines-Allen, they'll have options. The best of the bunch, though, is probably Cameron Jordan. After 15 seasons with the New Orleans Saints, the 2011 first-round pick hit the open market and remains unsigned because "he wants to feel appreciated."

Jordan could be appreciated in Jacksonville. Coming off a 10.5-sack season, he showed that he still has some juice left. The fact that the Jags already have Travon Walker and Hines-Allen around would allow him to stay fresh throughout game day, as the coaching staff could afford to rotate the three of them.

Similarly, the trio could take the field at the same time, with Walker lining up inside in passing downs. Simply put, Jordan would give the Jacskonville pass rush a massive boost.

Now, the Jaguars may want to wait until the draft to address the pass rush, as they'll have plenty of appealing options in Rounds 3 and 4. That said, they shouldn't rule out the prospect of bringing in a proven veteran like Cameron Jordan.
