Due to cap constraints, the Jacksonville Jaguars refrained from making many moves in free agency and will instead wait until the NFL Draft to address the larger scale roster. Having said that, they shouldn't hesitate to sign a player if it allows them to bolster a position group. After all, there are several intriguing options still available.

While the interior defensive line should be the team's top priority, the pass rush could use some upgrades. Veteran Cam Jordan remains unsigned and could be the perfect addition to the rotation behind Travon Walker and Josh Hines-Allen.

Cam Jordan is interseted in signing with 3 teams in free agency

Before Cam Jordan tested free agency, he made it clear he wanted to sign with a team that made him feel appreciated. More recently, he said that he would like to re-sign with the New Orleans Saints — the team that made him a first-round pick in the 2021 draft — but the cents have to make sense.

Whether New Orleans is willing to meet Jordan's salary demands, he said on Terron Armstead's show that he's currently considering three options, via NFL insider Nick Underhill. Who those three teams are is unknown, but they all surely need pass-rush help.

At 36, Jordan remains a productive pass rusher, logging 10.5 sacks in 2025. In 15 seasons with the Saints, he's racked up 132 sacks and 17 fumbles. The Jaguars could use that kind of production.

Granted, signing Jordan may not be a bargain, but he probably won't command the same amount Trey Hendrickson got from the Baltimore Ravens ($28 million per year). There's a chance that he may be looking for the same kind of deal that Khalil Mack signed to return to the Los Angeles Chargers (one-year, $18 million), but may have to settle for less.

Why the Jaguars should target Cameron Jordan

From an outside perspective, it's hard to tell if the Jaguars are one of the clubs that Cameron Jordan has set his sights on. Heck, the interest may not even be mutual. That said, it would make sense for Jacksonville to pursue him.

With the Jags, Jordan would fortify an already talented pass rush. With him in the fold, Travon Walker could move inside on passing downs and make it difficult for opposing teams to defend their defensive line. Moreover, signing the eight-time Pro Bowl nod would allow the Jags to focus on addressing the interior trenches in the NFL Draft, arguably their biggest need after free agency.

Of course, the team's brass could also wait until the draft to add a pass rusher. Leaving aside that it would be cheaper, this year's class is stacked, and Jacksonville could easily come out of Round 3 with an intriguing talent.

Signing Cam Jordan comes with obvious pros (a proven commodity) and cons (it won't come cheap), but it's something the Jaguars must strongly consider if they want to increase their odds of making a deep playoff run in 2026.
