The Jacksonville Jaguars are suddenly one of the hottest teams in the NFL, riding a six-game winning streak after beating the Denver Broncos in Week 16. During their recent surge, Trevor Lawrence has been playing like a top-10 quarterback, and analysts are quickly taking notice.

Richard Sherman notwithstanding, the consensus believes Lawrence is playing at an absurdly high level. In fact, you'll be hard-pressed to find someone who doesn't think No. 16 has raised his game to the next level in recent weeks. Michael Strahan most definitely agrees.

Michael Strahan heaps praise on Trevor Lawrence for his outstanding 1st half vs. the Broncos

Although the Jags got off to a somewhat slow start against the Broncos, they eventually picked up steam. Trevor Lawrence, in particular, made several big plays despite the fact that he was routinely pressured.

"I mean, Trevor Lawrence has looked great," Strahan said. "And you're going into hostile territory, going up here to Denver, against this great defense, and they're showing no fear."

Strahan then broke down one of his throws for Parker Washington, pointing out that he showed patience and later bought time before throwing.

"Here, Trevor Lawrence's patient steps to the right, freezes the defensive line, then runs to the left. We all know how mobile he is, but here [he] just throws the laser on the run, and great catch by the receiver there for the first down."

Later in his breakdown, Strahan noted that Lawrence had thrown for 12 touchdowns with no interceptions dating back to Week 13. Here's his touchdown toss to Washington.

By halftime, Lawrence had an adjusted completion rate of 77.8 percent with two touchdowns and no interceptions. What's impressive about his outing was that the Denver did a good job of neutralizing Jakobi Meyers, his most trusted target. That wasn't an issue, though.

Lawrence routinely looked for Washington, and the duo connected six times for 145 yards with a touchdown.

Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars have quietly silenced their doubters

Early in the season, Trevor Lawrence hasn't nearly as efficient. In fact, he routinely popped up in the bottom half of most quarterback rankings. However, Steezy Trev has turned the corner since the Jaguars' BYE week, completing 60 percent of his throws with 17 touchdowns and just five interceptions. Moreover, he has three rushing touchdowns.

With two games to go, Lawrence has scored a career-best 26 touchdowns, and his 33 total touchdowns in 2025 are the second most in a season in franchise history. At this point, you could even make the case that the former Clemson Tiger deserves to be in the MVP conversation.

Sure, Matthew Stafford and Drake Maye may have a better chance of taking home the award. However, Lawrence's recent surge cannot be overlooked. The fact that he just shredded a legitimate Broncos defense should most definitely solidify his case.

The Jaguars won't be slowing down any time soon, and with Trevor Lawrence playing his best football in the second half, it's time that they get their due.
