The Jacksonville Jaguars came out of the 2026 NFL Draft with 10 players and signed several others in the aftermath. However, general manager James Gladstone is always looking for ways to address the larger scale roster. This is why it wasn't particularly shocking to see the organization make a few moves with Organized Team Activities underway.

The Jags announced on their official website that they signed offensive linemen Trystan Colon and Dan Jackson. In corresponding moves, they placed cornerback Keith Taylor on Injured Reserve and waived offensive lineman Sal Wormley (again). Not long after the news dropped, Ryan O'Halloran of The Florida Times-Union posted on Twitter that Taylor tore his pec.

With him and Wormley out of the picture, the Jaguars will see what Colon and Jackson bring to the table. That said, they'll probably temper expectations.

Dane Jackson will make a bid to make the Jaguars 53-man roster

A fifth-round pick in 2021, Keith Taylor spent three seasons (one in the practice squad) with the Carolina Panthers to start his NFL career. He bolted for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2024 and landed with the Atlanta Falcons the following year.

The Falcons gave Taylor the boot in the midst of the 2025 season but latched onto the Jags to end the year. He signed a future/reserve contract in 2026 but was a long shot to make the team before the pec injury. To replace him, Jacksonville will lean on Jackson.

A fourth-round pick in 2020, Jackson played four years for the Buffalo Bills. He signed with the Carolina Panthers in 2024 and returned to Buffalo the following year. However, the former Pitt Panther didn't make the team and spent the season on the practice squad. He was elevated to the active roster three times, though.

In Duval, Jackson will compete with Christian Braswell and rookies Preston Hodge and Davon Marshall for a roster spot.

The Jaguars may have seen enough of Sal Wormley

The Jaguars released Sal Wormley early in May but brought him back not long after. The fact that they just cut ties with him again may be a sign that they've seen enough of him.

Wormley signed as an undrafted free agent last year and spent his rookie season in the practice squad. He was going to be a long shot to earn a roster spot but seemed like a candidate to land in the practice squad again in 2026. However, that no longer appears to be the case, as the team's brass is kicking the tires on Trystan Colon.

Colon signed with the Baltimore Ravens after going undrafted in 2020. He went to appear in 63 games with 19 stats in six years with them. The former Mizzou Tiger also spent time with the Arizona Cardinals and the Detroit Lions. The Jaguars are loaded on the offensive line, so it would be surprising to see him earn a roster spot. Then again, the coaching staff puts an emphasis on competition, so he'll definitely be given a shot at showing what he brings to the table.

The truth is that the moves the Jaguars just made are of the depth variety, but that doesn't make them any less important, as they need to be ready in case the injury bug strikes in training camp and later in the regular season.
