The Jacksonville Jaguars have announced that their now-famous Prowler uniforms will be making a comeback again for the 2025 season. Last year, in honor of the team's 30th anniversary, the Jaguars announced a throwback uniform that was an instant hit with fans.
While the Jaguars have had plenty of standout uniforms, the Prowlers have remained a steady favorite throughout the years. Unfortunately, despite Jaguars legend Tony Boselli's best efforts, they are still limited to how often they can wear them.
"Well, I'm with the fans. You know where I lie. I would wear those things every game if we're allowed. I think this year we're allowed to wear them up to four. We will maximize anytime we can wear the power of the old school jerseys, they will be on. There are league rules of how often you can change the jerseys. I will abide by those rules.Tony Boselli
... We can't change them immediately to be a full-time jersey. Stay tuned. We'll communicate that as we have the opportunity to at our next Jersey change. But for this year, expect us to maximize. I believe it's four times that we can wear the Prowlers, and we're going to maximize and wear those Prowlers as much as we can."
Now, the Jaguars will be bringing the fan favorite uniforms back for another four games, and those games have since been announced. And we can't lie - they're pretty major games. Not only will Jacksonville wear the Prowlers against three divisional matchups, they'll be wearing them for their game against three-time reigning AFC Champion Kansas City Chiefs, too.
These are the games where the Jaguars will be wearing the Prowlers uniforms:
- Houston Texans, September 21
- Kansas City Chiefs, October 6
- Indianapolis Colts, December 7
- Tennessee Titans, January 3-4 (TBD)
To put it plainly, these are major games for Jacksonville. As exciting as it is to see the throwback uniforms, that excitement will mean very little if they aren't able to win. Clearly, beating their divisional rivals will need to happen if the Jaguars want to win the AFC South, and beating the Chiefs would send a very powerful message.
The Prowler uniforms are awesome, Tony Boselli isn't wrong about that. But fans need more than just some awesome jerseys this season.
