The Jacksonville Jaguars are dealing with several injuries on the offensive line, so it's encouraging to learn that Walker Little could soon be back in the fold.

Little went down on the very first play of the scrimmage the Jaguars held one week before the preseason opener. He was week-to-week and sat out the game against the New Orleans Saints. However, Mia O'Brien of Action News Jax reported that the former Stanford Cardinal was back for individual and team drills on Day 14 of camp.

While it's possible that Little won't be back for Week 2 of the preseason, the fact that he's working his way back to the field gives Jacksonville a massive break.

The Jaguars could use Walker Little in light of injuries on the offensive line

Patrick Mekari was expected to return at some point of training camp or the season opener at the latest. However, he underwent a back procedure, and the Jaguars are still deciding whether they'll put him on the Physically Unable to Perform list to start the season.

On the other hand, Cole Van Lanen is still recovering from the knee injury that he suffered late in 2025. While he's making strides, he's yet to practice with the team. Compounding the issue is that backup Chuma Edoga suffered an injury in the preseason opener and will miss a good chunk of what's left of training camp.

If that wasn't enough, sophomore Wyatt Milum suffered an undisclosed injury on Day 13 of camp and will miss time. The silver lining is that the former West Virginia Mountaineer could be back for the preseason finale. In fact, Mia O'Brien reports that he was in a spider but didn't participate on Day 14.

All those injuries have left the cupboard bare on the right side of the offensive line. Newcomers Sam Mustipher and Geron Christian, along with second-year center Jonah Monheim, got plenty of work in the opener and should see lots of snaps against the Carolina Panthers in Week 2.

On the bright side, having Walker Little back will quell concerns. He could hold the fort at either right guard or right tackle, and Chuma Edoga could get the other snap while Cole Van Lanen continues to recover.

Even when Walker Little returns, the Jaguars will have questions on the O-line

The Jaguars will tentatively move Anton Harrison to left tackle full-time. Walker Little could start at one spot on the right side. He's an option at right guard because it's uncertain when Patrick Mekari will be back. On the other hand, he could start at right at right tackle (and Emmanuel Pregnon at right guard) in case Cole Van Lanen isn't ready for the season opener or is placed on PUP.

Granted, Little struggled at left tackle last year, but he fared well whenever he played right guard in training camp. The fact that he's making strides in his return is most definitely a reason for optimism.

Having him back most definitely gives the Jaguars options up front and makes their O-line situation a bit less concerning.
