Jaguars inactives vs. Broncos in Week 2: Quinn Ewers not ready yet

The Jacksonville Jaguars are a 2.5-point underdog for their Week 2 matchup against the Denver Broncos. This is a bit surprising when you take into account that they're coming off a decisive win against the Cleveland Browns, while the Broncos soundly lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in the season opener. However, the game will be at Empower Field, so Denver will have a slight edge by virtue of being the home team.

Then again, Jacksonville is hot and has enough talent on both sides of the ball to come out on top. Keep in mind that these two teams played late in 2025, and the Jaguars won. Granted, what happened last year doesn't have a bearing on the upcoming contest, but Jacksonville should feel good about its odds of leaving with a win.

After all, Trevor Lawrence has been the hottest quarterback in the NFL dating back to Week 10 of the 2025 season. He had no trouble tearing the Cleveland secondary apart, while the defense showed that it can get after the quarterback. Couple that with the fact that the Jags will have all hands on deck for the game, and going 2-0 to start the year is a realistic possibility.

Jaguars injury report vs. the Broncos

Wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. (shoulder), offensive lineman Cole Van Lanen (knee), receiver Jakobi Meyers (thumb), running back LeQuint Allen Jr. (hip), and linebacker Foyesade Olukoun (wrist) popped up on the injury report throughout the week, but they were all cleared to play Denver.

On the Broncos sideline, though, returner Denzel Mims has been ruled out with a foot injury, while running back RJ Harvey is questionable.

On a related note, Jacksonville placed defensive end B.J. Green on the Injured Reserve list heading into Week 2 and signed linebacker Jack Kiser to the active roster. The team's brass also signed linebacker BJ Ojulari to the practice squad, but he won't suit up against the Broncos since he wasn't elevated to the active roster.

Speaking of which, the Jags promoted quarterback Nick Mullens and linebacker Jalen McLeod via standard elevation. Mullens will serve as QB2 while Quinn Ewers continues his onboarding in Duval after being traded before the cutdown day deadline.
