The Jacksonville Jaguars may be without pass rusher Travon Walker when they face the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football. On the other hand, wide receiver Dyami Brown is back after missing the Week 4 win over the San Francisco 49ers.

Brown missed the Niners game with a shoulder injury. He's been one of the team's most reliable playmakers on offense, so having him back against Kansas City is great news. Just recently, head coach Liam Coen talked about how much of an impact the fifth-year veteran has had off the field.

Dyami Brown has embraced a leadership role with the Jaguars

Liam Coen met with the local media ahead of the Chiefs game and said that Dyami Brown has stepped up as a leader, noting that he was supporting his teammates on the sidelines in Week 4.

"Yeah, I think it was obviously missing. Missed having him this past weekend, but I thought he was great on the sidelines with the guys, communicating what was being seen out there, talking them through it," Coen told reporters. "Obviously when we did hit some negative stretches there, I know he was on the sidelines with those guys, trying to just be as present as he could be."

Coen continued, "Dyami has, in so many ways, I think, impacted the room where he's always been, since we got here, a 6 am get in, do his weights, rehab, prehab treatment, like he's, all last week, getting ready to go play with that shoulder. I mean, Ferg was saying he did everything in his power. He wanted to play his so, so badly. He did everything he lived here. So that's a great thing for those guys to be able to continue to feed off each other with So, yeah, he's been great."

Offensive coordinator Grant Udinski also heaped praise on Brown, noting that he provides a lot of toughness in the running game. Moreover, his effort is contagious.

The Jaguars will need Dyami Brown to step up vs. the Chiefs

A third-round pick in 2021, Dyami Brown was mostly a non-factor early in his NFL career. However, he put it all together last year. The Jaguars gave him a one-year deal worth $10 million because they expected him to build off his strong finish to 2024. So far, he hasn't disappointed.

The first two games, Brown hauled in eight passes for 109 yards with one touchdown. He had two more grabs in Week 3 before he hurt his shoulder. The Charlotte, North Carolina native is now and will need to pick up where he left off.

Against the Niners, Brenton Strange was Jacksonville's leading receiver with six receptions for 45 yards. Although the Jags won, they surely missed Brown, and he'll have a prime opportunity to bounce back against the Kansas City Chiefs.

If he does, the Jaguars' odd of pulling off the upset will go up.
