The Jacksonville Jaguars should feel great about their place in the AFC South after Week 4. Not only did they beat the San Francisco 49ers, but the Indianapolis Colts also fell to the Los Angeles Rams, putting both teams on a two-way tie for the division lead. On top of that, the Houston Texans don't look in good shape even after beating a toothless Tennessee Titans team.
And that's the thing, even though the Texans won in Week 4, they just got worse after making a baffling trade of an underwhelming player they signed in free agency.
The Texans are trading former Jaguars LT Cam Robinson to the Browns
After trading Laremy Tunsil to the Washington Commanders in the offseason, the Houston Texans made the questionable decision to sign Cam Robinson to protect C.J. Stroud's blindside. Fast forward to Week 4, and the Texans already gave up on him, sending him to the Cleveland Browns for a swap of late-round picks in 2017.
A second-round pick in the 2017 draft, Robinson was inconsistent throughout his stint with the Jaguars, so nobody batted an eye when he was traded to the Minnesota Vikings at the 2024 deadline.
Right off the bat, the former Alabama standout struggled with the Vikes, but that didn't deter Houston from giving him a one-year deal worth $12 million. The contract aged poorly, as the Texans named rookie Aireontae Ersery the starter at left tackle to start the year.
During his brief stint with the Texans, Robinson logged a measly 59 offensive snaps. Now, he'll get a chance to play for a Browns team in need of offensive line help, but they shouldn't hold high hopes.

The Cam Robinson trade shows just how dreadful the Texans offensive line is
The fact that Cam Robinson didn't get playing time despite the fact that the Texans offensive line is rancid goes on to show just how unremarkable he is. Heck, Houston cut him loose even though it had already paid him most of his salary for 2025.
Robinson got most of his $12M from Houston via signing bonus, so Browns take on rest of $2M base and $1.25M per-game roster bonuses. Gives Cleveland veteran help after Dawand Jones injury. https://t.co/6oDUwj19ym

In four games, Houston has given up nine sacks and 53 total pressures. Nobody should be surprised, though. Instead of revamping the line of scrimmage like the Jaguars did, the Texans opted for a band-aid solution, signing Cam Robinson and Laken Tomlinson and trading for Ed Ingram.
Of the three, only Ingram has turned out to be dependable. Not surprisingly, the Texans have a 3-1 record and find themselves in third place in the AFC South.
Meanwhile, the Jaguars have one of the best offensive lines after taking the necessary steps to beef up the group in the offseason: They have a league-best sack rate of 2.0 percent, they're second in pressure rate at 21.7, and their 1.98 yards before contact rank fourth in the NFL.

You have probably heard the cliche that you win football games in the trenches. Based on how things are playing out, the Texans missed the memo, while the Jaguars are reaping the rewards of an upgraded offensive line.
