The Jacksonville Jaguars weren't dealing with any major injuries when they played the Denver Broncos in Week 2. However, their rare clean bill of health wasn't ultimately enough to leave Mile High in a win. That said, the loss is now the rearview mirror, and the Jags must now focus on the task at hand: Welcoming the New England Patriots at EverBank Stadium in Week 3.
Leaving said that Jacksonville will have an edge by virtue of being the home team; injuries shouldn't be a concern for the second game in a row. This means that the Jags have no excuse not to repel New England.
The initial Jaguars injury report for Week 3 has positive news
The Jaguars released their initial injury report for Week 3. Running back LeQuint Allen Jr. (hip), Robert Hainsey (elbow, groin), defensive tackle DaVon Hamilton (back), offensive lineman Cole Van Lanen (knee), and wide receiver Jakobi Meyers earned the limited designation. However, it's hard to see any of them sit the Patriots game.

Van Lanen, Allen, Braswell, and Meyers made an appearance in past reports this season but still ended up suiting up. Hamilton and Hainsey dealt with injuries in the loss to the Broncos, but neither appears to be at risk of sitting out Week 3.
Early Wednesday, head coach Liam Coen said he didn't expect anyone to miss practice. True to his word, everyone showed up, with defensive tackle Matt Dickerson stating that the team had "a pissed-off energy," via Ryan O'Halloran of The Florida Times-Union.
Dickerson's remarks came after Coen stated that the Jags don't have time to dwell on the loss to the Broncos and must instead focus on the areas where they can improve.
"Yeah, we just don't have enough time to waste looking back," Coen told reporters Wednesday. "We have a darn good opponent that played in the Super Bowl last year coming into town that we know they're going to be very well-coached, disciplined, darn good football team with a good quarterback. and I think our guys, they talking to them there after the game on the plane when we got back."
Coen continued, A lot of guys understood kind of what took place and the areas in which we need to improve on and it's all of us in it together. And the best part of it is we have the opportunity now to respond."
The Patriots are certainly a threat even though wide receiver A.J. Brown won't be available for the game. Drake Maye is off to a somewhat slow start in 2026 but was a runner-up MVP last year. On top of that, New England has the top-ranked defense, and Jacksonville may struggle to get the running game going in Week 3.
Having said that, the Jags also have enough talent on both sides of the ball and should be motivated to bounce back from what was a humbling win.

The Jaguars have a prime opportunity to start 2-1
A loss to the Patriots wouldn't spell doom for the Jaguars in 2026, but it would most definitely complicate their path to the postseason, as it could end up serving as a tie-breaker in the playoff seeding. On top of that, it would narrow the gap between them and the rest of the AFC South. This is why Jacksonville must win and most definitely have a realistic chance to come out on top.
After all, the Jags suddenly didn't stop being talented. They're coming off an underwhelming performance, but building blocks like wide receiver Parker Washington, quarterback Trevor Lawrence, defensive end Travon Walker, and safety Antonio Johnson are still around.
Are the Patriots good? You bet, but so are the Jaguars, and not having any serious injuries should help them win their second game of the season.
