The Jacksonville Jaguars faced the Denver Broncos in Week 2. Although they were up 13-3 at halftime, they couldn't hold onto their lead and ultimately lost. The Jags are now 1-1, but the good news is that they remain at the top of the AFC South because every other team in the division also lost. On top of that, they'll get a golden opportunity to expand their lead when they welcome the New England Patriots at EverBank Stadium in Week 3.
Like Jacksonville, the Pats are 1-1, with their latest win coming against the Pittsburgh Steelers. It's worth noting that New England has the top-ranked defense in the NFL two weeks into the regular season, but the Jags have more than enough firepower on offense to put points on the scoreboard.

The Jaguars are surprisingly a 3.0-point favorite with a moneyline of -155 for this one, via DraftKings. Bet $155 on them and win $100 for a total payout of $255 if they beat New England. The Pats' moneyline sits at +130. Place a wager of $100 and win $130 for a total payout of $230 if they trounce Jacksonville. The over/under for the game is 44.5 to 44.5 points.

Bold Bhayshul Tuten prediction for the Jaguars vs. the Patriots in Week 3
Back in free agency, the Jaguars raised a few eyebrows when they let Travis Etienne bolt for the New Orleans Saints in free agency. However, they didn't make an aggressive effort to keep him around because they had Bhayshul Tuten in the fold.
The decision was under scrutiny because Etienne had registered three 1,000-yard seasons from 2022 to 2025. On top of that, Tuten averaged only 3.7 yards per carry as a rookie. The good news is that he's proven to be a more than capable replacement, toting the rock 28 times for 131 yards with one touchdown in two games to start this season. In fact, it's a bit puzzling that Jacksonville hasn't given him the ball more often in spite of his success early on.
And that's the thing, Tuten's yard-per-carry average in 2025 was below the average because he carried the football in many short-yardage situations. Chris Rodriguez is now filling that role, and with Etienne out of the picture, Tuten has been able to make use of his home-run speed.
Following the loss to the Broncos, it's clear that the former Virginia Tech Hokie deserves more opportunities. Jacksonville should be well aware of that, which is why you'll see him cross the 20-carry mark against the Patriots and rack up more than 110 yards with two touchdowns against the Patriots in Week 2.
