The Jacksonville Jaguars lost a close game to the Houston Texans. The officiating most definitely hurt them. The phantom flag that wiped out Bhayshul Tuten's touchdown still stings. However, great teams can overcome bad calls, and the Jags couldn't get out of their own way in the 33-31 loss to their division foe. That said, not everything was doom and gloom.

Jacksonville never threw in the towel, and several players stepped up throughout the game. These five, in particular, are watching their stock soar in spite of the loss.

5 Jaguars whose stock is soaring in spite of the Jaguars' loss to the Texans

Travis Hunter, two-way player

While Travis Hunter struggled at corner a bit, he also picked off C.J. Stroud in the end zone late in the fourth quarter, which allowed the Jaguars to briefly tie the game 31-31.

On top of that, Hunter showcased his ability to create yards after contact, amassing 44 yards on four catches with a touchdown.

It's also worth noting that Hunter became the first player in the NFL since Brian Dawkins, also known as Weapon X, in 22 years to register an interception and a touchdown in the same game. That's how special his performance against Houston was.

Walker Little, left tackle

Walker Little was the Week 1 starter at left tackle last year but was benched in favor of Cole Van Lanen as the year progressed. However, he's once again Trevor Lawrence's blindside protector following Anton Harrison's knee injury.

There were concerns about Little going into Week 6 precisely because he struggled last year, but he stepped up against the Texans' pass rush, giving up no sacks and just two pressures.

Little will probably return to the bench if Harrison is back this season, but he most definitely built his stock in the London game.

Nate Boerkircher, tight end

Although the Jags caught fire for drafting Nate Boerkircher 56th overall in the 2026 draft, they had a role for him in mind from the get-go, and he's done a great job of filling it.

Boerkircher had mostly served as a pass blocker this season but showcased his underrated passing skills against the Texans, reeling in a one-handed touchdown grab.

While Boerkircher will remain in his role as a blocker, he's quickly showing that he deserves more targets in the passing game.

Chris Rodriguez, running back

While Bhayshul Tuten rightly got the spotlight for his two receiving touchdowns and his "tip-toeing" celebration, Chris Rodriguez also had a strong outing against Houston, toting the rock a season-best 11 times for 55 yards.

Rodriguez has bounced back from a slow start to the season to become an integral piece of their backfield. At least in Week 6, he was more productive than Tuten.

Cam Little, kicker

Cam Little nailed a 57-yard walk-off field goal that gave the Jaguars the win over the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 5. He showcased his powerful leg once again against Houston, nailing a 60-yarder. The issue is that Jacksonville left enough time on the clock for the Texans to kick their own field goal to come out on top.

Despite the loss, Little is quickly proving that he's out of the brief funk he dealt with to start the season when he had a couple misses. It's also worth noting that both attempts were from 50 yards out, so he kind of gets a pass.

Either way, Little solidify his claim as one of the best kickers in the NFL in Week 6.
