The Jacksonville Jaguars wrapped up 2026 training camp when they held their second joint practice with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Head coach Liam Coen is surely pleased with all the work his team put in. While it was certainly perfect, the Jags showed they're ready to pick up where they left off last year.
Heck, Jacksonville entered training camp with a handful of questions looming, and you could make the case that they answered all of them. The one thing that suddenly became a reason for concern was the abrupt rash of injuries the Jaguars dealt with on the offensive line. But even that no longer seems to be an issue, as they're getting healthy in the trenches.
Knowing that training camp is in the books, here are the biggest winners and losers.
5 (or 6?) biggest winners from Jaguars training camp
Parker Washington, receiver
Although Parker Washington missed a few practices in training camp, he solidified his place as the team's No. 1 receiver. Dating back to 2025, he's quietly become Trevor Lawrence's most trusted target, which is why it wasn't shocking to see the two connect often the past few weeks.
The only question now is whether Washington will get a contract extension by the opener. He did a good job of preventing the whole thing from becoming a distraction, but the Jags should go ahead and take care of it if they don't want it to linger throughout the season.
Chris Rodriguez, running back
The Jaguars signed Chris Rodriguez to bolster their backfield after letting Travis Etienne walk in free agency. However, they had to wait until training camp to see a return on their investment because he underwent foot surgery in the offseason. It was worth it, as the former Kentucky Wildcat showcased his ability to gain tough yards.
Rodriguez may not have won the running back competition. Heck, there may not have been one to begin with, but he proved that he deserves to have a big role alongside Bhayshul Tuten.
Emmanuel Pregnon, left guard
Early in training camp, it didn't seem like Emmanuel Pregnon would be starting as a rookie. However, things quickly took a turn. With Patrick Mekari missing time and Wyatt Milum struggling, Ezra Cleveland moved from left guard to the right side. This paved the way for Pregon to start at left guard come Week 1.
The former Oregon Duck has gotten praise from his head coach and Trevor Lawrence. Although he's had rough moments, he's flashed enough talent to make you think that he'll be fine.
Josh Cameron and CJ Williams, wide receivers
You could say that including Josh Cameron and CJ Williams in the same entry is cheating. However, you couldn't put one of them and keep the other one off this list. After all, both of them came through training camp and made enough plays to earn a role on the Jacksonville offense next season.
When Brian Thomas Jr., Jakobi Meyers, and Parker Washington missed time, Cameron and Williams filled in for them, and the passing game didn't miss a beat. The Jags are stacked at receiver, so it will be interesting to see how the coaching staff will get them on the field.
Matt Dickerson, defensive tackle
Matt Dickerson signed with the Jags in 2025 and carved out a role in the defensive line rotation. They liked him enough that they gave him a new one-year deal early in 2026. However, the former UCLA Bruin appeared to be on the roster bubble before training camp. It was even suggested (guilty as charged) that Jacksonville could easily stash him on the practice squad and call him to the active roster when needed. That won't be the case.
Dickerson made the most of his chances in training camp and is a lock to make the team. He won't be the starter at defensive tackle but will still get a substantial role in the rotation behind Arik Armstead and DaVon Hamilton.
4 losers from Jaguars training camp
Wyatt Milum, right guard
With Patrick Mekari still sidelined, Wyatt Milum had a clear path to seizing the starting job at right guard. However, he wasn't able to take advantage of the opportunity. The West Virginia Mountaineer certainly had his moments, but they were few and far between.
Then, the Jags traded for Daniel Faalele and moved Ezra Cleveland from left guard to the right side. Barring anything unexpected, Milum won't see the field much next season. The one thing working in his favor is that he's healthy, something that wasn't always the case in 2025.
Jalen McLeod, linebacker
Jalen McLeod missed his rookie campaign after suffering an ankle injury. He entered training camp with lots to prove, but an injury once again sidelined him for several days. Although the former Auburn Tiger eventually returned, it may have been a bit too late. Heck, he didn't even suit up for the first two preseason games and appears to be on the roster bubble ahead of the finale.
Meanwhile, veteran Jahlani Tavai, who landed with the Jags after Jack Kiser's injury, has made an impression. He could contribute on special teams or rush the quarterback from a standup position. That's precisely the role McLeod would have carved out if he had managed to stay healthy.
J'Mari Taylor, running back
J'Mari Taylor was the talk of the town in the offseason program, flashing home-run speed and explosiveness. There was even chatter that he could sneak onto the 53-man roster. However, his impressive showing didn't carry over into training camp.
With Chris Rodriguez returning and Ameer Abdullah standing out, Taylor was overshadowed. That wouldn't have mattered if he had made plays, but he didn't do it on a consistent basis to build his stock.
Now, there's a chance Taylor will be a victim of the number's game.
Jack Kiser, linebacker
Like fellow linebacker Jalen McLeod, Jack Kiser missed time in training camp with an injury. He was poised to be the primary backup behind Foyesade Oluokun, but he may have tumbled down the depth chart. That said, there's still a chance the former Notre Dame Irish will make the roster, since rookie Parker Hughes suffered a season-ending injury.
Moreover, Yasir Abdullah made the most of whatever chances he got. When you add it all up, Kiser may be the victim of the numbers game once he returns. It certainly stings, since he had no control over getting hurt. Then again, availability is the best availability in the NFL, and unless you're a superstar, you run the risk of losing your job to injuries.
