5 biggest Jaguars winners from the 2nd joint practice with Buccaneers

The Jacksonville Jaguars held their second joint practice with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before the preseason finale. Unlike the first one, there weren't any scuffles, and the Jags managed to get plenty of work done.

Trevor Lawrence once again had a strong showing. According to John Shipley of Sports Illustrated, No. 16 threw an ill-advised interception on an underthrown pass. But other than that, he did a good job of finding his receivers and spreading the ball.

Having said that, Lawrence wasn't the only Jaguar who stood out. With this in mind, here are five non-Trevor Lawrence Jaguars who stood out in the second joint practice with the Buccaneers.

Nick Mullens, quarterback

Nick Mullens left much to be desired in the preseason opener but played much better against the Carolina Panthers. He had another good day in the second joint practice, throwing touchdown passes to undrafted rookie Trebor Peña and tight end Quintin Morris.

After the preseason opener, there were questions about Jacksonville's depth at cornerback. Mullens is quietly shutting down the noise.

Parker Washington, receiver

If you watched Parker Washington in the joint practices, you probably wouldn't be able to tell that he missed a week with an undisclosed injury. For the second day in a row, he outright dominated the Tampa Bay defense, reeling in a touchdown pass in the red zone. Granted, it took Trevor Lawrence a lot of time to pull the trigger, but Washington still came through.

This was likely the last time Washington got meaningful work before the regular season, so it was good to see that he's ready to roll.

Trebor Pena, wide receiver

Every year, there's a sleeper who joins the roster conversation. This year, it was Trebor Pena, who leads the team in catches and yards per reception in the preseason. The undrafted rookie once again showcased his skills in the joint, hauling in a touchdown pass from Nick Mullens.

Pena's bid for a roster spot will still come up short because fellow rookies Josh Cameron and CJ Williams have also flashed. On the other hand, he's done enough to land on the practice squad. Similarly, teams in need of depth at receiver may be eyeing him on the waiver wire.

Josh Cameron, wide receiver

By now, you may have picked up a theme: The Jaguars receivers had a field day against the Tampa Bay secondary. Josh Cameron, in particular, reeled in a deep touchdown pass with Zyon McCollum in coverage.

It's worth noting that Brian Thomas Jr. was wearing a non-contact jersey after hurting his shoulder the day prior. With him on the sidelines, Cameron and other receivers managed to get plenty of work, and Jacksonville should be thrilled about the state of the position.

Jabbar Muhammad, cornerback

Jabbar Muhammad turned heads in the offseason program and training camp but has been somewhat inconsistent in the preseason. He remains locked in a battle with Christian Braswell for the CB5 job and took a step in the right direction in the second joint.

John Shipley reported that Muhammad had two passes defensed and an interception against the Bucs secondary. Will that help him solidify his odds of making the initial 53-man roster?
