The Jacksonville Jaguars mustered a gritty win in their divisional bout against the Houston Texans in Week 3. Looking back, there were several things to like.

The biggest one might've been the team's newfound feistiness, as the Jags kept fighting until they secured the win. Similarly, the defense once again came through, delivering the knockout punch with an Antonio Johnson interception in Houston's last offensive drive.

On the other hand, the game came to the wire precisely because several players failed to come through when they were needed. These three, in particular, left a bit to be desired in Week 3.

Parker Washington, Jaguars wide receiver

Wide receiver Parker Washington showed up in the loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, hauling in five receptions for 76 yards. This isn't particularly surprising when you take into account that he was a stud during training camp. However, the former Penn State Nittany Lion wasn't able to deliver in Week 3, dropping two key passes that would've helped Jacksonville put the Texans away earlier in the game.

Now, Washington has been reliable throughout his career, so he won't see a decrease in playing time as long as he bounces back. In fact, he could see an uptick in targets if Dyami Brown misses time after suffering a shoulder injury in Week 3.

Cam Little, Jaguars kicker

The reliable Cam Little has been one of the most consistent players on the Jaguars roster dating back to 2024. However, the sophomore kicker failed to make a field goal against the Texans that could've widened the Jags' lead in the third quarter. What's puzzling about the failed attempt is that it was from 47 yards out.

Little has routinely nailed kicks of over 50 yards, so it was a bit perplexing to see him miss the one against the Texans. Like Washington, though, he just had an off day and should rebound next week.

Jarrian Jones, Jaguars cornerback

When it comes to Jarrian Jones, he didn't do anything wrong, but that's because he barely got any playing time. After logging a combined 71 snaps the first two games of the season, the Florida State Seminoles only got two against the Houston Texans. This is understandable when you consider that he gave up a few big plays, including a touchdown reception in Week 2, as the starter.

Couple that with the fact that Montaric Brown is back after missing the start of the season with a leg injury, and the decision to bench Jones is justified. It's also worth noting that Travis Hunter's playing time on defense has also increased, so there weren't many snaps left for the sophomore cornerback.
