The Jacksonville Jaguars might need to part with a first to make a deal like this.

Let’s be honest with each other. The Jaguars are probably hoping that their 2024 or 2025 first-round pick is 32nd overall. That will mean that they won the Super Bowl which is starting to become a realistic goal for this team going forward.

It is fun to think about but they might need to take some risks in order to achieve that feat. Adding a superstar back like Derrick Henry could be a way for them to do that. If they get a good pick (like a future third-round pick) back with him, giving up a first that they hope is in the 30s may be worth it.

Yes, Henry isn’t in his early 20s anymore and we know the lifespan of running backs in the NFL. However, he has shown no signs of slowing down and would help this offense in every way.

There might be more things that can be added to a deal like this from either side but it’s a framework for something that could help both teams achieve their goals over the next three or four years.
