3rd Place – Tennessee Titans (6-11)

The Tennessee Titans are going to take a big step back again in 2023.

Seeing the Tennessee Titans have a losing season in this scenario surely is as satisfying to Jaguars fans as their own team having a winning season.

Arguably the Jaguars’ biggest rivals, the Titans were one game away from snatching the AFC Crown from the mouths of the Cardiac Cats in 2022, only to lose disastrously in Jacksonville in week 18.

However, unless they hit several home runs via the 2023 draft or convince some of the more talented free agents to come to Nashville, there are simply too many holes to ignore.

Quarterback Ryan Tannehill is an aging quarterback who has struggled to stay healthy and is somewhat limited in what type of offense he can be successful in.

Having these restrictions at the most important position in all of sports is not necessarily a recipe for success. Tannehill is known for his limitations as he has shown that he cannot be relied upon to comfortably operate in a pass-happy offense.

He is much more comfortable deploying run-heavy offense, getting most of his passing yards via play-action passes and running back screens.

Running back Derrick Henry is certainly one of the more talented backs in the NFL but he is also aging and now has his limitations as well.

As seen in 2022, he may not be the unstoppable force he once was. In previous seasons, Henry was known for running all over the Jaguars and frankly embarrassing them with 90-plus yard runs seemingly every other game. But in 2022, as Jags fans let out a sigh of relief, there seemed to be a shift in momentum.

In all likelihood, the Titans are staring at another maddening season in which they have just enough talent to give their fans some hope but not enough to seriously convince anyone outside of Nashville that they will make a deep playoff run in 2023.
