Who is Jaguars rookie DL Israel Antwine?

This offseason looks to be no different for the Jaguars as they’ve signed several talented undrafted rookie free agents. One of which seems to be turning heads in practice daily and is my pick to make this year’s final roster — defensive tackle Israel Antwine.

Recently, I had the chance to interview Antwine and after getting to know him a little more, I am even more convinced that he not only has the talent to make the final roster, but the attitude and work ethic to separate himself from his competition.

In 13 games in 2021, the 6’3, 309 lb. defensive tackle recorded 20 total tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 2 quarterback hurries, and three sacks for the Oklahoma State Cowboys.

The Jaguars certainly addressed their shortage of play-makers at the defensive tackle position this offseason, but they will not shy away from keeping Antwine if he proves to be a valuable and consistent disrupter along the defensive line, and so far, he seems to be doing just that.

Demetrius Harvey of BigCatCountry says that Antwine has done well enough in practice recently to name him as one of his “under-the-radar” players producing solid outings in training camp. And the former Cowboy didn’t disappoint in the Hall-of-Fame, logging a sack and two tackles for a loss.

Without further ado, here’s the complete interview with Israel Antwine.
