No. 3 free agent the Jaguars should avoid in 2022 – Antonio Brown, WR.

You could argue that there’s no way the Jaguars would sign wide receiver Antonio Brown but the same was said when he signed with the New England Patriots and later with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Back in 2017, Brown looked on his way to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. It’s easy to forget now but he was one of the NFL’s most productive receivers of the 2010s. From 2011 to 2018, he hauled in 821 receptions for 11,040 yards with 74 touchdowns. Moreover, he earned seven Pro Bowl nods and four consecutive First-Team All-Pro designations as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers, the team that made him a sixth-round pick in 2010.

However, Brown’s career took a 180-degree turn when he forced his way out of Pittsburgh and joined the Las Vegas Raiders. The Central Michigan product never played a snap for the Silver and Black and became a source of drama. He was then released and quickly snagged by the Pats. His tenure in Foxborough only lasted one game though and was released after allegations of inappropriate sexual behavior surfaced. Surprisingly, Brown signed with the Bucs the following year and spent the last two seasons with them. Nevertheless, he quit the team in the middle of a game and is once again a free agent.

Brown has proven he’s got more lives than a cat and it wouldn’t be shocking to see a team in desperate need of help at wide receiver give him another chance this offseason. The Jaguars shouldn’t be that team.
