Jaguars mock draft, second round, 33rd overall pick, Treylon Burks, WR.

Jacksonville needs to surround Lawrence with as many weapons as possible. Perhaps they should take a page out of the Cincinnati Bengals’ book and make this their primary focus. The team could bring back Allen Robinson in free agency, but that money could be used to help their secondary. Drafting Treylon Burks makes too much sense here in the second round. If he falls off in the first round, the Jags could pounce right out of the gate in the second.

The six-foot-three, 225-pound, pass-catcher from Arkansas displayed the ability to stretch the field, averaging more than 16 yards per catch in each of his three seasons.

Last year, Pro Football Focus gave him an impressive 90.8 receiving grade. He totaled 529 snaps in the slot. That’s worth mentioning because he possesses the speed to play outside but is physically gifted with a large frame and even larger hands, so he’ll be able to dominate smaller defensive backs in the NFL. A true specimen, he will also help the Jaguars with his run blocking abilities. PFF graded him at 71.5 in that department.

The team could feature a young trio of Burks, Laviska Shenault Jr., and Laquon Treadwell to begin building a consistent passing attack in Lawrence’s sophomore campaign.
