The Jacksonville Jaguars have consistently drafted well in Round 2.

Three second-round draft picks have played 13 years in the NFL: Daryl Smith was a starter for 12 years, nine with the Jaguars, and played in 190 games. Rashean Mathis started 11 years, ten with Jacksonville, and played in 175 games, with one Pro-Bowl and one All-Pro selection. Khalif Barnes was a starter for seven years, four for the Jaguars, and played in 154 games. Amazingly, these players were selected in three consecutive drafts.

The others, in order of longevity, are:

Justin Durant played 11 years, starting six, and played 128 games.

Greg Jones played ten years, starting fve, and played in 131 games.

Mike Logan played ten years, starting two, and played in 116 games.

Maurice Jones-Drew played nine years, starting four, played in 126 games, and was selected to three Pro Bowls and one All-Pro team.

Maurice Williams played nine years, starting six, and played in 105 games.

Tony Brackens played eight years, starting four, played in 107 games, and was selected to one Pro Bowl.

Jonathan Cyprien played eight years, starting five, and played in 79 games.

Allen Robinson has played seven years, starting five, played 88 games, and has been selected to one Pro Bowl.

Quinton Groves played seven years, starting two, and played in 100 games.

Andre Branch played seven years, starting three, and played in 95 games.

Marqise Lee has played seven years, starting two, and played in 59 games.

TJ Yeldon has played six years, starting two, and played in 60 games.

Ebon Britton played six years, starting one, and played in 60 games.

Larry Smith played six years and played in 64 games.

Myles Jack has played five years, starting all, and played in 73 games.

Brian DeMarco played five years, starting three, and played in 63 games.

Cam Robinson has played four years, starting three (injured one), and played in 47 games.

Mike Pearson played four years, starting two, and played in 40 games.

DJ Chark has played three years, starting two, played in 39 games, and has been selected to one Pro Bowl.

That’s a lot of names. Let’s keep trimming down the list.
