2. The Tennesee Titans need to take a step back in 2021.

The Tennesse Titans have made the playoffs in back-to-back seasons and their offense is a big reason why. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill has enjoyed a career revival after struggling in Miami and Derrick Henry is the best running back in the NFL right now.

Last season, the Titans’ offense ranked fourth in points scored and there’s no reason to believe they can’t have a top 5 unit this upcoming season. Tennessee lost wide receiver Cory Davis and tight end Jonnu Smith in free agency. However, they still have A.J. Brown and Anthony Firkser on the roster, so their offense shouldn’t miss a beat in 2021.

On the other hand, the Titans’ defense could be their Achilles heel in 2021. Last season, they ranked 24th in points allowed and gave up at least 30 points in eight games. That’s not a recipe to win games (just ask the Jaguars). They signed defensive end Denico Autry and EDGE rusher Bud Dupree this offseason to bolster their defense. They also drafted cornerback Caleb Farley in this year’s selection meeting, so there’s a chance they will improve.

Nevertheless, it looks like Tennesse’s defense is in transition, and it may take a while for the unit to gel. Even if the Titans’ defense struggles in 2021, they will still be a formidable foe thanks to their offense. Nevertheless, they might be more vulnerable, which is something that could help the Jags capture the division.
