Which Jacksonville Jaguars should walk in free agency?

Chris Thompson is probably gone. The Jaguars’ signed him primarily because he played on Washington for Jay Gruden, and Gruden may not be with the team anymore.

Adam Gotsis probably doesn’t get re-signed. Neither will Dawuane Smoot, even though he has improved every year and is a person with character. They are both defensive ends and there are plenty available in this year’s draft.

That takes us down to two: Abry Jones and Tyler Shatley. This one is tough. They will both be 30 next season, but they both bring value. It’s no secret that, besides quarterback, defensive tackle is the biggest need on the team. Jones has been a consistent contributor and reliable backup. He should be an affordable option for the Jaguars and would provide depth at a position of need.

Shatley has also been a consistent contributor, and his versatility to play two interior offensive line positions makes him very valuable. Although the more pressing need is defensive tackle, Shatley gets the pick to round out the three free agents the Jaguars should keep.
