Jarrod Wilson

Jarrod Wilson is still under contract for two more years. He’s set to make $2.45 million this season and $2.2 million next. Despite the fact the Jaguars still have him under control for another two seasons, they should explore locking him up for longer.

Since coming into the league, Wilson has missed just one game which was back in 2017. He’s appeared in 63 games where he’s recorded 119 tackles (92 solo) and he’s gotten better each year, especially since his third season which was in 2018.

In 2018, he tackled 21 players (19 on his own) while forcing two fumbles and deflecting two passes. Last season in 2019, he recorded 79 tackles (57 solo) with a forced fumble, two interceptions, and four pass deflections.

Wilson is a perfect player to extend as he shouldn’t be too expensive and he’d probably appreciate the fact that the team sees him as part of their future. Something like a four year, $20 million deal that kicks in after his current contract expires with about $11 million guaranteed should get both sides to agree to an extension. It might be best for the Jaguars to extend him now before he gets more expensive.
