The Jacksonville Jaguars current offensive coordinator was brought in this offseason, replacing John DeFilippo in the same role from last season. The former head coach in Washington has been charged with making Minshew not only a household name but an elite quarterback, which is something the Jaguars have not had since the days of Mark Brunell.

The change in philosophy, with Jay Gruden’s West Coast offense the center of the game plan in 2020, should be a huge benefit to Minshew and his development. The Jaguars also added more weapons on offense this offseason that will help move the football downfield.

If the Jaguars had to make a move in-season, it is likely Gruden would assume the interim role. Depending on how successful he is, it might lead to a permanent position, just like Marrone had in replacing Gus Bradley in 2016.
