This is a more unified locker room

Without getting into too much commentary on politics or social unrest, the Jacksonville Jaguars changed the culture of the organization potentially more than any other football team this year.

While there is a definite difference in the demeanor and purpose of this franchise, the stance players, coaches, and front office personnel have taken regarding social injustice could have an impact within the locker room.

Because of the comments made by team owner Shad Khan, Marrone, and players over the last month, it appears everybody is “All In” the season. In certain instances, situations that bring together unity have a way of carrying over into the regular season. Hopefully, that is what will happen here in Jacksonville.

And hopefully, that means this team will fight tooth and nail and surprise many opponents.

This team isn’t as far off from being a contender as many think. The Jacksonville Jaguars are three years removed from a playoff run. There is youth. There is speed. There’s athleticism. And most of all, there is a plan for changes on the field. If all of those things come together and this could be a repeat of 2017. I’m not holding my breath yet for that to happen.

But if there’s as much exuberance from the players who have been brought in this off-season through free agency, and the NFL draft as there is from holdovers from 2019, the local and national media could be talking about the Jaguars as one of the surprise teams of 2020 season.

I truly believe that and maybe those who are doubting this team should believe that as well. Forget about tanking football games and preparing for the 2021 season. This is a team that will concentrate on this year and will see what happens.
