Round, 5, Pick 165 – Derrek Tuszka, EDGE, NDSU

At this point in a skill position heavy draft class, the rest of these picks could be seen as a reach but I have an affinity for North Dakota State and I went with one of their Edge rushers in Derrek Tuszka with this pick.

Round, 5, Pick 170 – Shaquille Quarterman, LB, Miami

The Jaguars get a thumper at linebacker with Shaquille Quarterman who would definitely make his presence on the field known, potentially as a special teams ace.

Round, 6, Pick 189 – Trevis Gipson, Tulsa, EDGE

The Jaguars love length and athleticism that here with Trevis Gipson and his 33 7/8″ arms.

Round, 6, Pick 206 – Jacob Phillips, LSU, LB

Towards the end of the draft, it helps to look at small school athletes who are looking to prove it at a higher level and large school athletes with an impeccable pedigree like Jacob Phillips. The Jacksonville Jaguars receive the latter in this former 4-star (24/7 Sports) High School linebacker who would be seen as a developmental project (which at this stage most are).

Round. 7. Pick 227 – A.J. Green, CB, OSU

As long as he can put up as much of a fight as the Bengals receiver, A.J. Green should fit nicely in a revamped secondary group.

Bam! 12 more hard-hitting defensive pieces that will try and regain the glory of the past as the Jacksonville Jaguars look to the future. Stay safe out there everyone and don’t forget to keep an eye out for more draft content this week as we edge closer to the 2020 NFL Virtual Draft!
