3. Tight End

The Jaguars did their best to secure this position last offseason through free agency and the NFL Draft. It seemed as though everyone was hurt and even the players brought in off the street provide a modicum of comfort in the passing game.

The plan was for Nick Foles to have tight ends at his disposal to use as weapons in this offense. James O’Shaughnessy, injured. Josh Oliver, injured. Geoff Swaim, injured, Seth DeValve, injured but still played.

You get the picture. I’m curious what happens in 2020 when they all return and someone like Eric Ebron is available in free agency. Offensive coordinator John DeFilippo is adamant about using the position for more than blocking.

It would not hurt this roster to go back to the idea of a two-tight end spread or a blocking back for Leonard Fournette.
