Quarterback- Gardner Minshew
I know that I said that Gardner Minshew, the Jaguars newest and brightest star in the making, wouldn’t be a key player to watch going forward because he is always going to have eyes on him, however this scenario it is just too good not to specifically single him out.
After an incredible comeback performance and some beautiful displays of footwork, creativity, and accuracy, “Minshew-mania” keeps roaring ahead full steam. This week he is going to be facing off against a quarterback that was put in a sort of similar situation as he has been in.
Minshew is also facing one of the best defensive minded and knowledgeable players in the NFL in Luke Kuechly. If Minshew plays well in this game there will have to be some serious consideration that he may take over the reigns from Nick Foles before Foles even got a chance to start his Jaguars career.
The Carolina defense is solid though it doesn’t offer the same big name appeal like that of the Denver Broncos or the Houston Texans. It’s a strong defense that is capable of keeping any offense in check. If Minshew puts up a performance similar to the one he had last weel or even better it will prove to a lot of people that Minshew isn’t only the cool mustache and jorts that everyone loves to talk about but he is also a fantastic young football player.
