FACT
When the Jaguars and Steelers first got together back in October, the Steelers’ quarterback Ben Roethlisberger threw a whopping five interceptions.
I think we’ll see another turnover-ridden game this week, but it’ll be a group effort.
Blake Bortles got lucky with a few throws last week and I would be shocked if the Jaguars don’t let him air it out more this week in an effort to try to get the passing game going. I think that means a pick or two for Blake as he tries to force a few throw.
That doesn’t necessarily mean I think he’ll have a bad game – I think Blake can bounce back but it’s just a game of numbers and the more Blake throws the more likely he is to throw interceptions.
I also think the Jacksonville defense will harass Big Ben constantly throughout the contest.
There’s one type of quarterback that doesn’t scare me when they face the Jacksonville defense and that’s a slow, mechanical passer. Ben isn’t nearly as mobile as he used to be and he takes his time in the pocket – that means more type for the pass rushers to get home and wreak havoc.
It’s going to be a sloppy, back and forth contest.
