Jacksonville Jaguars: Rashad Greene is impressing his peers
By Luke Sims
The Jacksonville Jaguars receiving corps is quickly becoming stacked and young Rashad Greene is impressing his peers.
2016 won’t be a Rashad Greene’s first season, but he’s hoping it’s the year he breaks out.
After making a name for himself as a punt returner in his limited on-field time in 2015, Greene is working to hone his skills and also become a more complete player as a wide receiver in addition to his duties as a return man. We here at B&T are excited for what he can bring to the Jacksonville Jaguars and think he’ll turn in a truly impressive campaign.
Apparently so do some of his peers.
There’s no question that Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns are at the top of the depth chart at wide receiver for the Jags, but players like Greene and Marqise Lee are eager to show they deserve to be a part of the conversation as well. Hurns has already been impressed by Greene saying per the Florida Times-Union:
"I’m very excited for him, just him being able to go through this and be healthy the whole time. He came in with the knee and Achilles’ [last year], little minor things and then the thumb, that limited him but he’s looking good."
Being able to get on the field is half the battle in such a physically demanding sport as football. Greene’s presence is felt when he can be on the field, so it’s important that he’s able to stay healthy to keep making an impression.
Earning the praise of one of the most exciting players in the NFL (and one of the top 100) is just an added cherry on top.
Keeping an eye on Greene through the offseason is important. He’s got talent oozing out of his pores and could be a safe bet as a more involved breakout candidate for the team moving forward. Hurns thinks he’s looking good and that’s only building the excitement.
