Jacksonville Jaguars are stacked at wide receiver

The Jacksonville Jaguars’ top two wide receiver get most of the attention, but there’s more depth to the corps than immediately jumps off the page.

Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns rightly get all of the attention for the Jacksonville Jaguars’ receiving corps. They are excellent wide receivers and can contribute in any game on any play.

They’re good enough to be named the ninth best triplets when paired with quarterback Blake Bortles.

The other Jacksonville Jaguars receiving threat that is often mentioned in the same breath as Robinson and Hurns is tight end Julius Thomas. He’s a red zone threat and demands attention.

But the other guys at wide receiver aren’t slouches either.

Marqise Lee is a big name to keep an eye on and so should be Rashad Greene. Both players will get plenty of opportunities to become something special in the exciting Jags offense for 2016.

More from Black and Teal

Greene, who plays special teams as a punt returner as well, is a lightning quick player with high upside. His time thus far has been limited due to injury but when he has been on the field he has easily been one of the more exciting players.

Lee’s time with the Jags on the field has also been limited. He hasn’t been able to shake some lingering injuries, but when he has been on the field he has made some pretty impressive catches. 2016 could finally be his year to deliver on his potential.

Both of these players are overlooked on the national stage. While Robinson and Hurns get placed in the NFL’s top 100 and other honors, they quietly put in the work to be better and get more looks from Bortles on game day. Both of them could amount to something more in the coming season, so keep an eye on out and don’t forget their names.

There are at least four players (with more coming on each day) that warrant attention at a crowded position.
