PREDICTION: Blake Bortles will play all 4 quarters: FICTION

Result: FACT

For some reason beyond my comprehension, the Jaguars played Blake Bortles and the rest of starters to the bitter end in Sunday’s embarrassing loss. I understand trying to get some positive momentum going into the offseason, but something intangible like that was not worth the risk of endangering your key young pieces.

Head coach Gus Bradley is coming back in 2016 and he has all the pressure on him now to win more games than ever has. It was reckless to keep Bortles and the rest of the starters out there late into the 4th quarter when the game was out of hand, especially considering how badly the Houston defensive line was beating the Jacksonville offensive line.
