Drew Brees will throw for 350+ yards: FACT

As bad as the Saints’ pass defense has been, the Jacksonville defense is not too far behind. The Jaguars have consistently made bad quarterbacks look good this year and good quarterbacks look like All Pro candidates. Matt Ryan joined Philip Rivers, Marcus Mariota, Jameis Winston, Ryan Fitzpatrick, and Brian Hoyer in the “I’ve been having a bad stretch of games, good thing I’m playing the Jaguars so I can find my groove again” club last week.

Brees hasn’t been extremely bad this year, but he certainly hasn’t been the same Drew Brees. He’s been under pressure every game to put up big points and he’s struggled at times. He won’t have trouble this week against a completely non-existent Jacksonville pass rush.

The Jaguars have been a huge tease over the 2nd half of the year and they baited plenty of people into believing they were a quality football team. I fell into the trap as well a few times but not anymore. The Jacksonville offense has been explosive at times this year but Bortles has a knack for making his mistakes at inopportune times. Even when the offense is clicking on all cylinders, the defense can’t hold up to their end of the bargain and they let opposing quarterbacks tear them apart. Brees will have a big game and outscore the Jags in this one.

PREDICTION: Jaguars 35 – Saints 38
