PREDICTION: Chris Smith will get a sack: FACT

Result: FICTION

Chris Smith didn’t get to the quarterback with any of his opportunities on Sunday and he was overshadowed by Andre Branch.

Yes, Andre Branch had a great game on Sunday. Perhaps the game of his life and one that might make the Jaguars consider signing him to a cheap contract this offseason. His terrific performance started with a much-needed huge play before halftime where he stripped the ball from Matt Hasselbeck and returned it for a touchdown.

This doesn’t completely negate the awful play of Branch over the first 12 games of the season, but it’s hard not to be happy for Branch as a guy who puts forth a good effort every week and is clearly very liked in the locker room. Hopefully he can carry this over and wreak havoc next week against the Atlanta Falcons.
