2. Limit DeAndre Hopkins

DeAndre Hopkins has been having a stellar season so far for the Houston Texans and if the Jacksonville Jaguars want to earn their second victory of the season then they will need to key on Hopkins. He currently leads the league in receiving and he is coming off three straight 100 yard performances. The Jaguars defense has yet to stand up well against the pass so far this season, allowing the 12th most passing yards per game and they only have one interception on the season.

If the Jaguars can stop DeAndre Hopkins then they will have a great chance to win because Houston has yet to find a consistent second producer on the offense. Former Jaguar Cecil Shorts is the second leading receiver for Houston with only 22 receptions for 236 yards and neither Alfred Blue or Arian Foster have been effective in the rushing game.

Brian Hoyer will be the quarterback looking to get Hopkins the ball on Sunday and the Jaguars have to be eager to face Hoyer after shutting him down last year. In last year’s matchup against the Cleveland Browns, the Jaguars held Hoyer to only 215 passing yards, one interception and no touchdowns.

The Jaguars passing defense will certainly have a tough time shutting down Hopkins but facing a quarterback they have stopped in the past should give them plenty of confidence.
