Cap Capi came away with two sacks in his first preseason action of the year. He as easily one of the most aggressive players on defense for the Jacksonville Jaguars and he’s been turning heads as a result. His stock is on the rise.

Now, can he keep it up?

It’s one thing to have a good game and it’s another thing entirely to have a bunch of good games that secure you a bigger role in the defense. Capi is hoping he can turn the 2015 preseason into a bunch of good games that gets him a bigger role.

Looking like a rotational player on a crowded defensive line, Capi will have to keep impressing if he wants to secure a roster spot and get some snaps through the season. Guys like Andre Branch, Ryan Davis, and even Tyson Alualu provide excellent depth for the Jaguars at defensive end. Capi and other hopefuls like Chris Smith have to produce if they want to move up the depth chart and justify a spot on the roster.

Last week we saw a hungry Capi delivering on his potential, whether he can do it again or, even better, find another gear and show that he’s even better than last week, will go a long way in moving him toward a bigger role in the Jaguars defense.

Maybe last week saw us put unreasonable expectations on Capi, but he definitely showed he’s worthy of attention. Give him a look during the game.
