Jacksonville Jaguars: Wide receiver free agents to consider

Santonio Holmes, wide receiver
Along the same vein as James Jones, Antonio Holmes could be an easy move for the Jacksonville Jaguars to make if they still want that veteran presence at the receiver position.
That said, Holmes’ market has been “middle-of-the-night silent” according to NFL.com’s Marc Sessler. That’s too bad for a receiver who used to be one of the most exciting in the NFL and a former Super Bowl hero.
If it’s between Jones and Holmes, I think Holmes is the weaker of the two. With only one 1000 yard season to his name – back in 2009 – and just two touchdowns in the last three seasons, Holmes’ time may be up.
If we’re looking at the bottom of the barrel (and we may well be, here) and desperately need a receiver, Holmes would be tempting. Until then, it’s best to keep to the younger guys.
