[Poll] Jaguars Free Agency: Best Signing So Far

facebooktwitterreddit

Jaguars free agency started off with a bang, with an historic shopping spree by the team.

Six new Jaguars will be coming in to immediately impact the team. The Jacksonville Jaguars expect them to come in and immediately influence the outcome of games. From two players on offense (OT Jermey Parnell and TE Julius Thomas) to four players on defense (CB Davon House, LB Dan Skuta, DT Jared Odrick, and S Sergio Brown), the Jaguars largely addressed holes on both sides of the ball.

So, which one of these signing do we, the fans, like the most?

That’s the question we pose to you:

Here’s a basic listing of the Jaguars free agency signings so far and their expected roles:

Julius Thomas, Tight End

Brought in to be the starter, he is primarily a receiving threat and a much-needed reliable receiver for Blake Bortles. Concerns over his blocking ability and his ankles are valid.

Dan Skuta, Linebacker

Coming to Jacksonville to play the OTTO position in Gus Bradley’s defense, the Jags are hoping he can make the jump from part-time starter to full-time impact player.

Jermey Parnell, Offensive Tackle

An upgrade at right tackle, Parnell is also being brought to Jacksonville based on limited starting snaps. He was a high-impact player for the Dallas Cowboys after Doug Free went down with injury last year.

Jared Odrick, Defensive Tackle

Odrick quickly became the odd man out in Miami after the team signed Ndamukong Suh. He was an easy cut for the Dolphins following a down year in production. Very versatile defensive lineman.

Davon House, Cornerback

House is coming into Jacksonville to compete to be the number one corner in the system. He’s got the size for Gus Bradley’s defense, but is another player signed based mostly on potential.

Sergio Brown, Safety

Brown is a versatile safety with time spent both at strong and free with the Indianapolis Colts. The shortest contract handed out, he could either be a reserve or push for a starting spot.
