Denard Robinson Scores Two Touchdowns In Loss to Cowboys

Lost amid the 31-17 whooping that the Dallas Cowboys put on the Jacksonville Jaguars in London is a little statistic for Denard Robinson. The second year running back posted his first ever two touchdown game in his career.

Robinson finished the day with 15 carries for 60 yards and two scores. The first was this beauty to put the Jaguars head 7-3 before everything fell apart:

The 32 yard scamper wasn’t a season long for the running back, but it’s a great highlight to add onto an increasingly impressive career.

Some discussion heading into the game was about seeing

Denard Robinson take on DeMarco Murray

and while the game ended up being

decided more by Dez Bryant than the two running backs

, it was nice to see Robinson hit pay dirt twice on Sunday.

Robinson continues to develop into a quality running back as the Jaguars strive to become a more complete team. If he had been given more chances with the ball on Sunday we likely would have seen him break another big one and maybe add to his TD total. He was running hard for most of the game against the Cowboys and he proved that he deserves more touches after he punched it in for his second TD following failed attempts from Toby Gerhart.

At this point the only running back worthy of touching the ball for the Jaguars is Denard Robinson and he’s doing a great job with his opportunities.

If the team can stay within 10 points then we’ll likely see Robinson given the ball more, especially as they strive for a more balanced offense that doesn’t put the game in rookie QB Blake Bortles’ hands too much.

Congratulations to Robinson on his two scores. It’s a pity they couldn’t come in a victory, though.
