The Indianapolis Colts are playing much better than their 2-2 record would indicate. Their two losses came in the first weeks of the season against the Denver Broncos and Philadelphia Eagles, both teams that are playing at a very high level a quarter into the season. The two losses (by a combined 10 points) are overshadowed by the utter dominance the Colts have shown in the division. In weeks three and four the Colts blew out the Jaguars and Titans by a combined 85 to 34 points. While they aren’t the best measuring sticks for the Colts, they provide a spark for a team that just needed a little something extra to get back on track.
I expect the Colts to get a few more wins in their upcoming weeks before the bye in week 10. They have a tough schedule with the Baltimore Ravens, Houston Texans, Cincinnati Bengals, Pittsburgh Steelers, and the resurgent New York Giants coming up. Three to four of those games are definitely winnable and the Colts are hot coming out of week four. The momentum feels good out of Indy, even if they are playing second fiddle to the Texans in the division…for now.
