A 7th round pick, Demetrius McCray may become exhibit A in David Caldwell’s drafting portfolio. McCray played 159 snaps this preseason, the most of any defender, and he showed the ability to potentially start this year and beyond.
McCray only allowed 5 receptions on 10 balls thrown his way for 32 yards. Quarterbacks throwing to him had a passer rating of 57.1. He didn’t have a lot of work against starters, but McCray showed he’s a valuable piece of a young and ascending secondary.
