Myles Jack fell into the lap of the Jacksonville Jaguars during the 2016 NFL Draft, quickly becoming the player to keep an eye on through the offseason.

Jalen Ramsey or Myles Jack? Who will be the more exciting rookie defensive player to keep an eye on for Jacksonville Jaguars fans during training camp?

If you’re like NFL.com’s Conor Orr or myself, you’ll be looking at Jack most of the time.

Jack’s incredibly short time as an NFL football player has been one of the better storylines in football already. Struggling through injury, falling the 2016 NFL Draft after a small scare literally the night before, vowing to overcome the humiliation to come back, missing out on most of the team’s workouts because of arcane rules regarding graduation, and now prepping to finally get back with the team and show why he was considered a top-five talent.

For a roller coaster ride, it’s been mostly descents to this point in Jack’s career. Sure, being a second-round pick, having a team trade up for you, and finally signing on the dotted line for his first contract are all positives, but it hasn’t been about wha the loves: playing football.

More from Black and Teal

Training camp will be the chance to show off a little bit. It will be a chance for Jack to be front and center for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

There are high expectations for Jack. Orr writes, “He is expected to be the type of player that never leaves the field, but that is up to him this August to prove he can be trusted that way,” which is absolutely true. Jack is a key part of the new Jags defense and will be expected to perform.

Can the young linebacker brings some highs to his offseason and build some momentum before the preseason and the 2016 season gets underway? Will he be as good as well all hoped? How will the rest of the team make room for him? Where exactly will he fit in Gus Bradley’s defense?

These questions and more will hopefully be answered at least partially during training camp for Myles Jack. It’ll certainly keep my attention squarely on him through training camp.
